


Biography.
Christale Spain is a graduate of W.J. Keenan high school in Columbia, SC, the University of South Carolina Aiken with a B.A. in Sociology, Human Services and Columbia College with a M.A. in Human Behavior and Conflict Management. She’s a proud member of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. Christale got involved with the State Party as a volunteer in 2012, working her way up to Executive Director in 2016. She has worked under the last three SCDP Chairs: Dick Harpootlian, Jaime Harrison, and Trav Robertson, Jr. In 2018, she founded the SCDP Black Women’s Caucus. In 2015, she worked on Sen. Bernie Sanders’ first Presidential run as his Political Director. Christale Spain also worked for two years with Congressman James Clyburn in his district office focusing on constituency service and outreach. In 2019, she served as the SC State Director for Sen. Cory Booker’s Presidential Primary campaign and went on to run the SCDP Coordinated Campaign for the 2020 historic US Senatorial race. Most recently, she worked during the historic 2022 midterm elections as the Senior Advisor of Black Engagement for the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee (DCCC) where she has continued in her role. She is a proud dues paying member of the Teamsters union and was a member of the DCCC’s Bargaining Committee. Her involvement led to the organization’s first union, making it the largest collective bargaining unit in the Democratic Party. She has over a decade of working on local, statewide, and national campaigns, becoming a decorated national political operative and she will bring that experience to the position of South Carolina Democratic Party Chair.
